Resource Description
-
Although germfree (GF) conditions do not completely prevent the occurrence of kidney disease, there are significantly fewer positive animals at every age range tested, in comparison to mice raised under specific pathogen-free (SPF) conditions. Mice have a normal mitochondrial phenotype. There iss no evidence of podocyte effacement for GF mice (over 100 days of age).
