At E18.5 storage lesions were seen in perivascular areas near the meninges of the brain, but the vacuoles were few in number and were only detected in a small number of cells. Vacuolation was more prominent in the brain by birth.
At 5 months of age, storage lesions were evident in regions that contained abundant ubiquitin-immunoreactive lesions including the oriens layer and cerebral cortex.
