    This line was first described by Xu et al. in "Dopamine D1 receptor mutant mice are deficient in striatal expression of dynorphin and in dopamine-mediated behavioral responses" (PMID: 7954836). D1 KO mice have targeted disruption of the gene for dopamine receptor D1A and were "generated by mating either heterozygotes or homozygotes, and genotype was determined by PCR." "We thank [...] M. Xu (University of Chicago) [...] for providing stock for the [...] DA receptor KO mouse lines."
