The modification of diet is among the most impactful interventions influencing human health, highlighting the importance of studying nutritional biology for preventing and/or treating disease.
The Penn Center for Nutritional Science and Medicine (PenNSAM) focuses on integrating human clinical metadata, traditional dietary assessments, and nutritional biomarkers with the latest high throughput molecular profiling technologies together with advanced biostatistical and computational tools in a new approach to improve human health and ameliorate disease through nutrition.
This approach will ultimately have an impact upon nutritional policies in government and society.
